There were many reasons behind the pioneering of Northland Christian Assembly in the fall of 1999. As a member of the Flagstaff community for the majority of my life, beginning in 1962, I have from time to time, seen churches and pastors come and go. I have also seen churches and pastors come and stay and develop fruitful ministries. No single church or ministry by itself however, has ever been able, or ever will be able, to fulfill the purposes Jesus intends for His church to fulfill. With that said, perhaps the most significant reason for starting NCA is to develop another body of believers for participation in Jesus’ plans and purposes for His church as a whole. Northland Christian Assembly is founded upon the Word of God, and specifically the Missions Statement that Jesus makes in John 10:10, “I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly,” or, as we like to put it, “Living the Christian Life to the Fullest!” As a pastor, I believe that Christian people should set the pace for the rest of the world when it comes to daily choosing to get all that we can out of this life. This isn’t a dress rehearsal for the real thing; you only get one chance at life, so make it count! Therefore, I feel that it is absolutely essential that the church apply this philosophy in the three major areas that sum up our Statement of Purpose.
My deep desire is that those who become a part of NCA, will find fulfillment in the destiny that God has for them as individuals, and in turn find fulfillment in the family of God by joining together with others in His corporate body of believers. |
